MORMON Temples
LDS TEMPLE WORK A Ridiculous Work and A Blunder

The ancient Jewish Temple in Jerusalem contained an altar for animal sacrifice which atoned for the sins of the living. A practice within the Mormon Temple however has given rise to one of the worlds largest genealogical research libraries. It revolves around a most questioned religious doctrine, that is, the salvation of those already dead through proxy baptism. This practice is reserved for an elite class of church members.
Perhaps the most embarrassing thing to the Mormon Church (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) concerning their doctrine of baptism for the dead is the Book of Mormon itself. The Book of Mormon is supposed to contain the "fullness of the everlasting Gospel." In the Doctrine and Covenants (42:12) we read: "And again, the elders, priests, and teachers of this church shall teach the principles of my gospel, WHICH ARE IN THE BIBLE AND THE BOOK OF MORMON, IN WHICH IS THE FULLNESS OF THE GOSPEL."
Joseph Smith said the angel told him that "the FULLNESS OF THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL WAS CONTAINED IN IT (the Book of Mormon) as delivered by the Savior to the ancient inhabitants." (Pearl of Great Price, p. 51, verse 34)
The Bible however tells us that the "fullness" of time was the sending forth of God’s Son (Gal. 4:4).
Even though the Book of Mormon is supposed to contain the fullness of the gospel,
it never mentions the doctrine of baptism for the dead, not even once!
Actually, the Book of Mormon condemns the very ideas that lead to the practice of baptism for the dead. It plainly indicates that there is no chance for a person to repent after death if he has known the gospel and has rejected it.
In Alma 34:33-35 we read: "And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed. Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world. For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even until death, behold ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he doth seal you his; therefore, the Spirit of the Lord hath withdrawn from you, and hath no place in, and the devil hath all power over you; and this the final state of the wicked."
The Bible says, "And inasmuch as it is appointed to men to die once and after this comes judgment." (Heb. 9:27)
Even though Jesus himself never taught anything about being baptized in proxy for those already dead, the Mormons twist a few obscure verses from the Bible to justify their beliefs. These baptisms for the dead are performed only in temples and the Mormon people are very zealous about this work, for they believe they are saving their ancestors. John Taylor, who became the third President of the church, stated: "...we are the only people that know how to save our progenitors,...we in fact are the saviors of the world, if they ever are saved;. . ." (Journals of Discourses, Vol. 6, page 163) Wilford Woodruff, the fourth President, felt that he had saved John Wesley, Columbus, and all of the Presidents of the United States except three. (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 19, page 229)
They truly believe these temples have some form of power. At the Logan Temple cornerstone dedication, President George Q. Cannon made this statement, "Every foundation stone that is laid for a Temple, and every Temple completed. . .lessens the power of Satan on the earth, and increases the power of God and Godliness, moves the heavens in mighty power in our behalf, invokes and calls down upon us the blessings of the Eternal Gods, and those who reside in their presence." (The Logan Temple, Millennial, 12 Nov. 1877, p. 743)
These "so-called Gods" are actually demons who impersonate the dead people. In L.D.S. President Wilford Woodruff’s words: "The dead will be after you, they will seek after you as they have after us in St. George [temple]. They called upon us, knowing that we held the keys and the power to redeem them." (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 19, p. 229)
The Bible says that communication with the dead in any form is detestable in the eyes of God. (Deu. 18:10-12)

MORMON PROPHETS HAVE A FAMILIAR (Demon) SPIRIT?
In a publication by the L.D.S. Church, entitled "The Mormons and the Jewish People", LeGrand Richards writes, ‘When prophets of the Lord speak, they always have "a familiar spirit."’
The Bible says, "Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them." (Lev. 19:31, 20:6) In fact in the Old Testament, King Saul had all of those who had "familiar spirits" killed (1 Sam. 28:3).
The Bible also says, "And when they shall say unto you, seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter, should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them (Isa. 8:19&20).
The Mormons claim that through them the Kingdom of God is to be established "In the Latter Days." They fail to read the Scripture that predicts their own apostasy. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (1 Tim. 4:1).
Even if proxy baptism was a legitimate doctrine there is no way for it to reach the needs of the millions of deceased people for whom there are no public records. There is no way of proving the existence of many who have lived and died in third world countries. And for the clerical mistakes in spelling etc., in public records of the deceased, the Mormons are spinning their wheels doing needless rituals for people who may or may not have ever existed. So, in reality God is the one who has to sort out the issues that go beyond our material plain. Being baptized for the deceased is nothing more than religious exercise which appeals to the pride and emotions of man.
My friend, the Bible clearly states the way for a person to escape the wrath of God and enjoy the blessings of eternity in God’s presence. Jesus said, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not on the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36) In God’s way of salvation a person must accept certain facts about God, about himself, and about Jesus Christ.
He must understand that God in love provided the method by which man may come to Him. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) This God is not limited by a body of flesh and bones.
Man must also acknowledge that he has fallen short of God’s standard and so deserves eternal punishment and separation from God. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Rom. 3:23) "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Rom. 6:23)
An individual must realize that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man and that He paid the price for each man’s sin. "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit." (1 Pet. 3:18)
In God’s plan each individual must personally receive God’s gift in order to be saved. "But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." (John 1:12)
Salvation comes not through man’s works, proxy water baptism, or a belief in Joseph Smith, but by accepting the finished work of Jesus Christ. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us." (Titus 3:5)
At the moment of salvation a person becomes a member of the church composed of all individuals who are trusting Him for eternal salvation. "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body (the church)" (1 Cor. 12:13).
