Mormon America B.C. 600 to A.D. 421 examined by Dale Brown

Image
The Book of Mormon claims to tell a story of the Americas between 600 B.C. to 421 A.D.  speaking of animals and archeological items that did not appear until they were brought there after 1492 when Columbus sailed the ocean blue.  So apparently the writer of the BoM either knew nothing about history or simply dreamed up this fictional tale to deceive ignorant people who are eager to believe a lie. Biblical coins Museums throughout the world display coins listed in the Bible yet the Nephite coins (senine, ezrom, onti, shiblon, shiblum, etc.) listed in the BoM (Alma 11:5-19) are no where to be found.  Metallurgy was not developed in the Americas and the natives were quickly undone by the steel swords of the Spaniards, yet the BoM records fine steel bows (1 Nephi 16:18), fine steel swords (1 Nephi 4:9). The native Americas were astounded that the Europeans could ride on horses like gods because there were no horses in America until they arrived from Europe.  Alma 18:9-10 records h

Racist Mormon Joe attacked all other churches

Image
Yep, when Mormon prophet Joseph Smith asked the personages of God which church he should join      "I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt". So there you have it.  The Apostle's Creed, the Nicene Creed, and all the Christian professors of his day were corrupt.  So for over 1800 years, no one could get it right until Joe showed up.  Apparently the translators of the King James bible could not figure it out either.  Then, an uneducated fourteen year old lad blows away everyone.  Sounds a bit like Muhammad who came up with a wild religion of his own.  But Smith's is even better than Muhammad because he was a "white and delightsome" racist from America. Any Questions? After Joseph Smith and his brother were shot to death in the jail at Carthage, Illinois, Doctrine and Covenants 13

Please don't call us Mormons

Image
Mormon prophet Joseph Smith claimed that "the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth and the keystone of our religion." Yet, it has gone through many changes since it was first printed in 1830 and it does not even mention one of the church's key rituals, that is, the baptism for people already dead through proxy baptism by present day church members. The summer of 2018 finds the Mormons making another desperate move to distance themselves from their dubious past.  Their whole religion is based on the Book of Mormon and other "revelations" dreamed up by their prophet Joseph Smith but suddenly they do not like to be called Mormons.  What is next, demanding the DOT to replace signs that speak of Mormonism? One whole county in Idaho is named after a Book of Mormon  character named Limhi which got misspelled In effort to appear like other Christian denominations they now highlight the name Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints a

Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable and Moonies

Image
Joseph Smith sleeping with Muhammad and Rev. Moon Mormons will do just about anything these days. They even hold interfaith meetings with other religions cults Both Muhammad and Joseph Smith would roll over in their graves to see swirling dervishes in the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake.  Who is going to get the women in the afterlife? Yet some naive people think Mormons are Christians The Mormons have even worked with Rev. Moon's cult in the past.  Joe Connors I were a part of hundreds of people that flew to Salt Lake to attend meetings with CAUSA back in the late 80's, all expenses paid, to listen to members of the Unification Church give their pitch about how to stop communism.  About a third of the audience was members of LDS completed with identification cards on their white shirts. https://www.csmonitor.com/1985/0705/amoon-f1.html

Mormon Sticks

Image
Two Sticks Or Four? Our Mormon friends tell us that God took two books (the Bible and the Book of Mormon) to fulfill a prophecy in Ezekiel chapter 37:15-19 which they claim points to their so-called restored church.  The two sticks Ezekiel refers to is the stick of Judah and the stick of Ephraim which were the Northern and Southern Kingdoms of Israel at the time.  There are many problems with the Mormon analogy but for those not familiar with Mormonism one might think that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the only books of the Mormon religion.  However as this photo shows there are actually three additional books aside from the Bible that Mormons consider divine revelation, Scripture or "sticks". They are the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price.  So why does Ezekiel not mention these others? Ezekiel actually explains what these two sticks really mean.   “And when the children of your people speak to you, saying,  ‘Will you not show us w

What would Joseph Smith do?

Image
http://youtu.be/RotWGKJOwb4   Magic underwear protects brain from common sense The Book of Abraham Fabrication by Joseph Smith The LDS Church has gone to great lengths to cover up the true nature of the funeral papyri that Joseph Smith claimed was about Abraham and Joseph.  Author Charles M. Larson exposed the fraud in this book "...by his own hand upon papyrus" that the Mormons still promote as fact in their "scripture" call the Pearl of Great Price.  It is one of the many ridiculous works and blunders that Brigham Young continued with after Joseph's death.  This book contains testimonies of numerous creditable Egyptologists who have examined the papyrus and claim that Joseph did not have a clue what he was looking at.  Why would God use a pagan funeral document to speak to us today?  If you remember the Exodus story God lead the Jews out of Egypt because of their opposing beliefs. Marvelous Work & Wonder?

Image
A Marvelous Work and a Wonder?    A Review by Dale Brown Originally published in 1950 this Mormon book was written by LeGrand Richards to assist missionaries in their evangelism. Mr. Richards lived from 1886 to 1983 until his death at 96 years of age. He served as a member of the quorum of the seventy in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The opening chapter is most revealing in its bold statement, “The position of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormon Church, will be discussed from the point of view that it is the only Christian church that does not depend entirely upon the Bible for its teaching. Had all the Bibles in the world been destroyed, the doctrines and teachings of the Church would have been found to conform to Bible teachings, since they were received by direct revelation from God. We appeal to the Bible to prove that the truths received through the restoration of the gospel are in accord with its teachings.” On page 5 we read “

What Happened to Mormon Doctrine?

Image
A book which was once considered a standard work of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is now out of print and being quietly swept under the rug. Written by Bruce R. McConkie, a member of the First Council of the Seventy of the Mormon Church, the book has come to be known as simply “Mormon Doctrine”. It was first published in 1958 but the forceful and blunt language and style presented a bit of an embarrassment for the church for a number of reasons. It is simply too clear in its portrayal of Mormon beliefs. It has been a valuable reference tool for critics of the church who could easily look up some of the unorthodox doctrines of Mormonism and quote from what was once considered an official statement in bold print. Like the 26 volume set of the Journal of Discourses first published in 1853 Mormons today will often claim that it is not a good source for church beliefs. In fact if one quotes from Journal of Discourses which includes sermons from Joseph Smith and other

Glenn Beck, Israel and the Mormons

Image
Radio and television talk show host Glenn Beck has many hoodwinked, at least in the realm of politics. Appealing to the conservative sentiments of evangelicals and national pride he uses Christian words that speak of God and country. The question however is, which God? He is a poster boy for the Mormon Church who has shared publicly of his "faith" and is even found on Youtube trying to prove the Book of Mormon. In spite of all this he was invited to speak at Liberty University's Commencement in 2010 (one of America's largest Christian universities).  They downplayed his Mormonism by claiming to look for things that unite us. I guess being an American is all it takes, never mind that Mormonism teaches that Jesus is the spirit brother of Lucifer and their god lives near a star named Kolob. The Mormon prophet is still recorded in their "scripture" as claiming that all other creeds are an abomination and their professors are all corrupt. Sounds like we have a

Richard J. Mouw on Mormons

Image
The commentary of Richard Mouw of Fuller Seminary about Mormonism in the TriCity Herald 11/25/11 was revealing in deed. Though he admits that Mormonism is not orthodox he cannot quite use the “cult” word to describe them. Yet, he admits they claim (as their prophet did) all other Christian creeds are “an abomination”. Because they have grown however to be a large media savvy sect that promotes political figures, they are now OK? He suggests that us evangelicals should “cast aside old suspicions”. So a small fire might burn you, but a forest fire is good for the U.S. economy. Him using the John F. Kennedy/Catholicism illustration is like comparing apples and oranges. Our Catholic friends do not believe Jesus is the spirit brother of the devil as do our Mormon politicians. Nor do they believe they can become gods. We have one God watching over us, thank you. When Mormons throw out all of their revelations from Joseph Smith, then we can “cast aside old suspicions” but until then we might
